 Dill's '61 |
Pedigree: 1961 Corvette, one of 1156 built in May of 1961 and born as a Roman Red with Ermine White cove two top car. Equipped with a 275 Horse fuel injection, 4 speed, radio, heater, and positraction. I’ve owned the car since 1974. Car had been drag raced and treated very poorly prior to my ownership. The original engine, transmission, shifter, rear end, radio, dash pad, steering wheel and hard top were all long gone. The dash set had been modified to use Stewart Warner gauges and a Sun Super Tachometer -- fully functional, but clearly not right. Also, the cowl vent had been removed and the hole fiberglassed in. The car was painted Metallic Blue when I took possession and there was some green paint between the blue and the original red/white. The car has been disassembled and parked in the garage since 1982. The picture, above, was the second time the car had seen the light of day in over 20 years. |
